The Dave Brubeck Quartet is rightly regarded as one of the great ensembles of its time. Albums like "Time Out" and "Gone With the Wind" helped define post-war modern jazz in the s and 60s. But my favorite Brubeck album has always been "Jazz Impressions of the USA." Long out of print, this s jazz classic is now finally available on CD/5(36).

The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Jazz Impressions of the U.S.A. (UK PHILIPS BBL ) English press of a nifty little item of s jazz from the inimitable Bru and his men. I have a soft spot for Brubeck’s music from this period when the quartet was touring colleges in the US and, I suspect, laying the foundations for a commercially successful career.
